HARNAI: Unknown assailants gunned down at least three coal mine workers on Sunday in Shahrag area of Harnai, Balochistan, on Sunday.

Bol news channel quoted Levies sources as saying that all the victims were working in the coal mine of Amanullah Taran.

On the other hand, Harnai Deputy Commissioner Suhail Anwar Hashmi said the workers could not be identified yet. “Levies and Counter Terrorism Department teams have been dispatched to the crime scene to shift the bodies to hospital,” he said.
On March 17, seven coal miners were killed in a blast caused by build-up of methane gas in the mine in a Torghar gas field of Harnai.

On November 13, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shehbaz Sharif had condemned the blast near the Raghagan Dam in Bajaur which had claimed at least two lives of policemen.

They had also paid tribute to the martyred police officials.

“We salute the sacrifices of the martyrs,” CM Bazdar had said adding that the entire Pakistani nation was united against terrorists.

The two policemen were martyred after an improvised explosive device (IED) was triggered via a remote control blast in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
